Microsoft Encrypting File system is coming out
12th March 2007
ElcomSoft Company has released application Advanced EFS Data Recovery (AEFSDR) 3.2 for Windows. This program is a powerful means for recovering data, files meant for recovery (decrypt) and encrypted on NTFS (EFS) partitions created in Windows 2003, XP, 2000 and Vista. Microsoft EFS gives users the ability to protect confidential information from unauthorized persons when a computer or laptop is shared by several users. With AEFSDR protected files can now be decrypted even if the system is not bootable and does not allow you to log on. In addition, decrypt is possible even in the case data is protected by SYSKEY. There is only “barrier” in Windows Vista left, BitLocker component which protects data at the hardware level, and is intended to prevent access to corporate and personal data on lost or stolen systems. However, AEFSDR developers are already elaborating this problem and will soon come to its solution. AEFSDR costs $ 99, and trial version is also available. Minimum system requirements include Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista and 600 KB of free space on your HDD.
