Microsoft enters the market of VoIP

Microsoft is going to produce beta version of Office Communicator 2007 at the end of the month to millions of testers. This application will be the first step of software giant to offering VoIP to more than 100 million Office users in the next three years. On Wednesday, during the Voip-conference in Orlando, the head of Microsoft Business Division Jeff Raikes said that cost of development of Voip-sistems for business will be half cheaper by 2010, encouraging due to it considerable growth of the sector. Microsoft, by means of Office Communicator 2007 is planning to become one of the leading participants of VoIP market. Microsoft project will offer not only calls, but also the possibility of organizing web and video conferences, as well as IM-client. The company regards its product as the most important communications technology since 1997, when the first version of Outlook was released. The precise date of the final version of Office Communicator 2007 has not been declared.
