Microsoft showed updated interface of Visual Studio 2010
17th March 2009
At the Visual Studio developers conference, held in San Francisco, Microsoft gave some details about the coming release of VS 2010. In particular, they presented the first pictures of the UI of the new product, created with the use of Windows Presentation Foundation technology.
The proposed screenshots show that the editor`s interface became more ergonomic and ordered. For systems with multiple monitors there is an enhanced support of floating documents and working windows. Buttons are now displayed at the left side of the program. Edited code fragments are marked in color.
The modified New Project dialog box is added with easier navigation tools and search bar. The new version of Visual Studio offers enhanced support of templates, tools and extensions written by partner companies and independent designers. The product VS2010 will have a special tool Extension Manager, meant to help users find needed extensions and install them.
You will be able to personally appreciate the abovementioned improvements only with the release of the first beta.
