Microsoft strongly criticizes Google

Microsoft Corporation, according to Reuters, rigidly criticizes Google for its "offhanded attitude towards copyright." Accuses of illegal use of protected by copyright materials come from Thomas Rubin the deputy chief consultant of Microsoft on legal issues. According to Rubin, Googleâ€™s coming on new markets turned into serious harm to the book publishers, software developers, and movies companies. Mr. Rubin says that companies, which does not produce anything themselves, and make money only due to otherâ€™s content, earn millions of dollars on advertising and the deployment of their own shares. Google, according to Ribin, adheres to the position that absolutely any material can be freely copied, unless the owner of the copyright applies to Google directly and does prohibits it. Microsoft, he said, on the contrary, first requests permission from the owners of copyright for use of their content, and only then copies it. Rubin points out constant complaints and suits against Google on behalf of the news agencies, publishers, and so forth. Deputy chief consultant of Microsoft, in particular, mentions super popular video service YouTube, which Google bought last year for $1.65 billion. Thomas Rubin points out, that the service YouTube is constantly criticized by movie companies, which accuse the service of tolerance with piracy. Google, however, disagrees with the criticism of Microsoft. Thus, Google Vice President David Drummond says that the company works with more than 10 thousands of publishers, as well as with famous television and movie companies to place only legal materials in the database of YouTube.
