9th March 2007
Some IT specialists came to the conclusion that the GUI of the new operating system is lower in performance than that of Windows XP. One of the key indicators of interface operating speed was velocity of menu display. According ot the words of the study's authors, the performance of XP was better that that of Windows 98, but in Vista it fell to the level of Windows 98. The results of "desktop” operating speed showed that Vista Aero interface is 14% slower than that of XP. In the test, inspecting mouse positioning accuracy, Vista has also been worse than OS of previous generations. Specialists recommend using of interfaces Basic or Classic, or to increase Vista performance. If you use these interfaces time of menu display becomes the same as in XP, but "desktop» operating speed in Vista is still “lagging”.
