The internet - version of the popular program will contain a limited set of features : only elementary - level features for the creation and image refinement. The program will also have Photoshop Elements. This strategy has been recently adopted by many major vendors, - says the head of Adobe department in Russia and the CIS Pavel Tcherkashin. - That means, that product will be promoted by advertisment and not license sale. And it will took much more than a year to ckeck if this way is effective or not. According to Tcerkashin, this scheme of the product promotion can influence the income from its sales. The matter is in redistribution. " This way seems to us more honest. The user has the right to know what kind of product we offer. On the other hand, we do not exclude the possibility that the launch of Photoshop online-versions stimulates many people to use our technology " - he said. As Pavel Tcherkashin added, product will appear in the Internet at the end of this summer and will not be just an internet-analog of some Photoshop version , but a separate software product. According to the experts' opinion, this service will be used primarily by owners of digital cameras. "Many of them from time to time have to refine the photographs, taken by digital camera, - says general director of ABBYY in Russia Grigory Lipitch. If a user does not make all these operations very often he just does not need to install such resource-intensive program as Photoshop. In this very case the online-version will be extremely useful for him. Mr. Lipitch thinks, that having once tried this online - version for small images a user can think about buying a full version of Photoshop. Thus, Adobe increases the potential amount of people, who may want to learn more about their products. As Gregory Lipitchc added, the ABBYY now has plans to make in Russia online server of texts identification, which, for example, would receive an image taken by camera of a mobile phone, and send it by e-mail in the identificated form (say, in a file of PDF or DOC format ) to a person, who made the snapshot. This is very useful, if, for instance, you read some article (on paper) on your way somewhere and want to save it for further studying or show to a collegue - Lipitch says. It is early to speak about the terms on which such servis will be available so far. But its beta version will be free.
