RIAA gives file-exchangers the chance to aviod trial.

RIAA , the assosiation of american record companies kept its promise and launched www.p2plawsuits.com site. This resource is meant for users of file-sharing networks. The main aim of this site is to help them to find agreement with record companies without putting the case into court. The p2plawsuits.com website is intended primarily for the defendants accused by such record companies as EMI Music, SONY BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group : students whose names were given by RIAA fascilities, internet users and those, whose names were given by providers. People, accused of copyright infringement can go to the site and get familiar there with comprehensive information on their suits, apply for a settlement of agreement, and even pay online amount which RIAA requires for the damages caused. Thus, the labels provide copyright violators with the opportunity to avoid publicity, without putting them on trial. The fact that studioes intend to change their persecution policy of peer networks users was announced in mid-February. RIAA sent a letter to all providers, urging them to cooperate in the fight against file-exchangers. In particular, the Association suggessted that providers should send accusive letters to those users who are suspected of copyright violating. RIAA suggests, that on receiving such a letter to a file-exchanging "fan" should contact the association, repent and resolve the conflict without bringing it to court and also indemnify it for losses. In this case, RIAA will give the offender an opportunity to reduce amount of compensation considerably (up to $1000 and even more).If a user ignores the letter, record studioes will put him on trial.
