Sony will publish a list of old games compatible with PlayStation 3

Sony Corporation is going to publish in the near future a list of old games that would be compatible with the European version of PlayStation 3.PlayStation 3 is coming out in Europe on March 23. Unlike people in the United States, who can choose different modifications of HHD of 20 GB and 60 GB European buyers will be able to acquire the modern version of the device. Besides, in European stores PlayStation 3 will cost 600 euros (over $750), while in the United States, the same playstation costs about $600. Moreover, the other day, Sony representatives said that the European version of the PlayStation 3 will have less good compatibility with games for the PlayStation 2, than the versions, meant for sale in Japan and the United States. The matter is, that Sony decided to focus their efforts on the development of new games and, thus, to exclude from the European version some electronic components, responsible for backward compatibility. At the internet forums immediately large amount of complaints began to show, in which users expressed outrage at the Sony decision. As a result, members of the corporation tried to clear up the situation. According to DailyTech, which refers to the words of Sony representative Phil Harrison, it was not the case, in which users could only run no more than a dozen old games on European version of PlayStation3. At the time of presentation of this version, it will be compatible with about 1,000 games originally meant for the PlayStation 2. In addition, Harrison says, the majority of the Playstation 3 users will prefer themselves games of a new generation. Otherwise, indeed, they can simply buy the PlayStation 2.
