Symbian has announced a new version of OS Symbianos 9.5

Symbian Company has announced recently a new version of its operating system, the final version of which will appear in the second half of 2008. According to the vice president of the company Jorgen Berens, Symbian 9.5 will offer users a lot of new features including the improved support for VoIP, in particular the users of this OS will be able to switch over between 3G and WLAN networks on mobile phones automatically. Also in Symbian 9.5 support will be added for SQL Lite and a set of API for developers. Besides the new version will have built-in devices for synchronization of data with Lotus Notes and MS Exchange. It`s worth noting that in Symbian 9.5 API will be included which are necessary for the operation of the satellite positioning systems. The support for Microsoft Media Transfer Protocol is also announced. But they tell in the company in much detail about the productivity of new OS. In Symbian 9.5 a buried defragmentator of RAM-memory will appear, as well as read-and-record cache means, which at 20-30% will reduce memory consumption. Besides, in OS will appear a counterpart of swap file, which will allow applications to work quicker up to 75%. Finally, in the new version there will be integrated new multimedia services, in particular support will appear for mobile television (DVB-H and ISDB-T standards), and also new software components for the support of new photo- and video-cameras.
