YouTube covenanted with the NBA.

NBA Channel on YouTube video hosting pages can be found now, didicated to the National Basketball Association, which will contain pieces of matches and other content. Even average users will be able to publish videos there. On base of these videos,deployed by registered members a weekly rating of NBA Top 10 on YouTube will be formed by means of users voting. Videos, found in this top then will be shown on cable NBA channel. The NBA promised to monitor possible copyright violations and remove questionable videos. It is noticible, that, the NBA will be able to compensate for the losses caused by the illegal deployment of video on YouTube by advertising revenue from videos. The Google and NBA's relationships are not limited to just partnership with YouTube, the latter being acquired by Google at the end of last year for $1.65 billion - NBA Channel's videos will be indexed by Google contextual advertising called AdSense. The initiative is temporary, for possibility of further integration with AdSense will be decided later on the basis of performance. It should be added, that Google and the NBA has been working on partnership terms for quite a long time, for "basketball " videos could be viewed on Google Video at the very beginning of its exestence already. The watching a video in the Google Video Store one had to pay up to $4.99 those days.Thus, nowadays only two major sports organizations USA-NHL and the NBA have agreement woth YouTube. The authorities of NFL and the National Baseball League of the United States has been sceptical about the possibilitiesof videohosting so far, ArsTechnica reports.
