3ds Max 2009 and 3ds Max Design 2009

The Autodesk Company has released new versions of 3ds Max 2009. Now 3ds Max is available in two versions: 3ds Max 2009 for those developing games and other projects in the field of entertainment, and 3ds Max Design 2009 for those working with architectural projects.
3ds Max 2009 introduces a new set of tools for visualization Reveal, ProMaterials library to simulate realistic materials, improvements in the Biped object, new tools for editing UV. Also there is improved import and export to the formats of OBJ and FBX, what provides better compatibility with the programs of Mudbox, Maya, MotionBuilder and other applications. In addition, the new version provides improved compatibility with the program Revit Architecture 2009, presents a new navigation system in 3D-scenes using the technologies of ViewCube and SteeringWheels.
3ds Max Design 2009 includes all the features of 3ds Max 2009, except for SDK (set of tools for developers). But 3ds Max Design includes a new technology Exposure to simulate sunlight, light from artificial sources of illumination, lacked by the version of 3ds Max for games developers.
Both versions of 3ds Max are sold at a price of $ 3495. At the same time, the program Autodesk VIZ will not be released anymore, and its users are now recommended to switch to 3ds Max Design 2009. Trial versions of the programs can be downloaded from the official site of the manufacturer.
