AnyDVD cracked BD+
4th April 2008
The latest update of the popular program AnyDVD from SlySoft can bypass BD+ protection which is used in some Blu-ray discs.
BD+ is a DRM-protection, designed by the company Cryptography Research. Last November, Macrovision made a bargain with Cryptography Research to acquire the code and patents to the protection in the amount of $45 million.
A few weeks before the deal was announced, SlySoft had reported that it cracked the protection. Technically, this was not true, but under certain conditions playback copied contents was possible.
And the latest version of AnyDVD HD 6.4.0.0 already has a specific function of removing protection BD+, due to which, improved compatibility with the films by Twentieth Century Fox can be achieved.
The last statement, without a doubt, is a direct reproach to the studio, which publicly reported in January that protection BD+ is impossible to crack.
We`d like to point out, that SlySoft can develop commercial programs to crack disks protection, only due to the fact that the company itself is located on the islands of the Caribbean Sea. There are no laws there, according to which the company could be punished.
