Awomo: new way of downloading games from the net
13th April 2009
The British company Awomo developed a new system for downloading computer games from the internet. The BBC channel says that unlike other systems, Awomo enables you to play a computer game during the very process of downloading. Game developers say that on the basis of their platform in theory, one can distribute any modern computer games. They argue that this way to distribute games is the fastest.
The first company to distribute games via the net was Valve, the developer of Half-Life. There are other ways to legally download games via the net, but they all have flaws.
As for the first game distributed via Awomo, it is the latest part of Tomb Raider. The entire distribution is 7.2 GB.
