Beta version of Adobe Flashâ€™s killer is expected on April, 30

Microsoft made the first attempt to push aside format Adobe Studios-Flash. Microsoft's development, known as Microsoft Silverlight, (previously developed under the Windows Presentatoin Foundation Everywhere) is designed to transfer video as well as an interactive component directly from the Web site. The plugin integrates into the open-source browser Firefox, which is one of the three most popular browsers as well as Safari, developed specifically for the Mac OS X. In other words, Microsoft wants to become one of the setters of global standards and that is why it takes this step. The technology is based on the graphic engine, Windows Presentation Foundation. Among the Microsoftâ€™s content-partners in Silverlight popularization there are: Akamai Technologies, Brightcove, Eyeblaster, Major League Baseball and Netflix. Besides the support of content-partners, Microsoft requires several parties to distribute the new standard. A Silverlight may be included in a package of mandatory updates of Internet Explorer, thus, no problems are expected with its integration into browsers-environment for the users. On the other hand, to increase the Silverlight rating developers will be required who will build on the basis of this new plugin applications, including Microsoft products. For instance, it is planned to release a plugin IIS7 Media Pack for Windows Server, which will produce webcasts. To promote Silverlight, Microsoft announced the launch of Microsoft Expression (which will be released in June) and its application to create web applications. Thus, the software giant wants get the popularity of Adobe Creative Suite 3, which at this stage is impossible. Beta version of the killer of Flash will come out on April, 30. According to Microsoft, the distributive fileâ€™s size does not exceed 2 MB. Because of Microsoftâ€™s activity in the area of developing applications based Distribution plugin, Adobe announced the launch of a offline Adobe Media Player.
