DC++ : 0.705: direct files exchnge
2nd April 2008
The peering client has been updated, the name of which stands for Direct Connect, that is, a direct connection from one user to another bypassing the server. The process of connecting DC++ to the network is maximally simplified: you need to enter your nickname, e-mail address (even if non-existent), and indicate the speed of Internet connection.
The network consists of a huge number of independent of each other collections of files, or hubs, as they are called here. Search can be produced only within each of them. Hubs are usually divided by themes: music, movies, comics, games, etc. Each hub has its own administrator, which sets the rules of its use, and minimal amount of open resources.
The latest version introduces a few patches for better compatibility, improves download by segments, adds displaying information about download of each file separately.
