Google Desktop now is available for Macs

The first version of the Google Desktop for Macintosh computers has been released. The utility has far less opportunities than the version for Windows. The main focus is on functions of searching files, e-mail and web pages. On the desktop, there is a window for quick search, and the results are displayed in the drop-down list. As Spotlight application, which is built into Mac OS X, Google Desktop also indexes all data of the computer in the background mode. The program can search in the history of visited pages and in Gmail, and also places on the desktop the reference to quick online search. But unlike Windows version, it is not yet integrated with mail client, and does not connect the sidebar.
