gridMathematica: using multi-core systems their fullest
15th April 2009
The company Wolfram Research offers a new product which will enable users to take full advantage of multiprocessor systems, clusters and computing grid-networks.
The package of gGridMathematica 7 enhances the functionality of the original built-in mechanisms by means of adding more computing cores, as well as automating most of operations associated with tasks allocation between the cores.
There several editions of the product. For instance, version gridMathematica Local allows using more four computational cores in addition to the four offered to users when purchasing a license for Mathematica. This version is ideal for increasing performance of multi-core systems. Version GridMathematica Server a single pool of 16 additional computational cores distributed among groups of users of Mathematica as necessary. Edition Wolfram Lightweight Grid Manager will facilitate detecting free Mathematica computational cores. This software can be used to control high-performance clusters.
Supported OS: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris.
