Microsoft promotes itself at Apple's expense
23rd April 2009
Microsoft chose quite a curious way to promote their main product of the famous OS. They released a series of commercials aimed to disgrace their prime competitor, Apple. The software giant accuses Apple of overpricing. The first commercial of the kind can already be found at YouTube. The video contains the following: a girl called Lauren wants to buy a laptop of 17-inch LCD for $1000. But in the official Apple store only 13-inch models can be purchased for this money. You might have already guesses the end of the video. Of course, the girl finds the needed model among Windows laptops. The computer running under the OS costs only $700.
And Microsoft is quite right at this point: Apple refuses to revise their pricing policy even at these hard times that we are having now. As a result, the software giant is not the only one to “snap” on them. For instance, recently the company of Blackberry (smartphones manufacturer) releases a video where a blackberry fruit “shoots” an apple through and tears it to pieces, just like a bullet.
Of course, one could have taken pity on Apple, had one not seen their most offensive “Hi, I`m Mac - Hi, I`m a PC…”. Serves them right.
