Microsoft will solve the problem of cursor
5th April 2007
Microsoft has decided not to leave their users on “tormenting” to hackers between “patch Tuesday”. Either the employees has awakened their conscience, or they has feared the competition from eEye Digital Security, but the fact remains: on Sunday night Microsoft has assured that already this week we expect exclusive patch for a critical vulnerability concerning the animated cursors in Windows. Let`s remember that the consultation of Microsoft about this vulnerability has appeared last Thursday and already on Friday the code was publicly exposed that has placed in jeopardy the security of many users. At the same time, we`ve got to hand it to the efficiency speed of Redmont Company - in the consultation paper they reported the updating of Windows Live OneCare, which delete harmful ware and prevent reinfection. In a statement, Microsoft has said that initially, the release of patch should have taken place during “patch Tuesday” but “patch testing has been ended earlier than they expected, that`s why Microsoft will release the update in advance to protect the clients” - if there would be nothing to prevent the company, the release of patch would take place tomorrow. According to Microsoft`s information, the number of registered attacks is low. Nevertheless, the company strongly recommends you to install patch as soon as it becomes available. Microsoft also noted that, for the moment, they carry out the investigation in order to identify the organizers of the attacks.
