Mozilla Lightning 0.8: calendar for Thunderbird users
24th April 2008
A new version of Lightning has come out, which is a supplement for free email client Thunderbird. Lightning was established to integrate the calendar into a mail program and thereby bring its functionality to the level of Outlook. In fact, Lightning is a slightly modified version of the calendar Sunbird, but it works in conjunction with Thunderbird. Using the program is recommended for those who want to combine calendar and mail in one application, for example, if a person receives invitations to meetings and assemblies via e-mail.
The latest version introduces the new task mode, which shows all the parameters of tasks (description, time frame, category, etc.); there is also an opportunity to set up a filter to display tasks. It is also worth while pointing out a completely changed notifications window, a new set of icons. This version of the program no longer supports Thunderbird 1.5.0.x, so users of older versions are recommended to upgrade.
