Mozilla temporarily extended supporting Firefox 1.5
29th April 2007
On April 24 the support for Firefox 1.5 and earlier versions of the Mozilla should have officially came to an end, but on the same day on the site of developers it was reported about extending the support until mid-May. It is noticeable that in February last year, the date of termination of support was announced. It seems that Mozilla is actively engaged in developing the latest updates for old versions, which could not be issued before the end of support. "Mozilla will release updates for the security and stability of Firefox 1.5 until mid-May this year. We urgently ask all the users of Firefox 1.5 to download the latest version of Firefox today", is said in address to the owners of older versions of the browser. It can be assumed that we may see release of Firefox 1.5.0.12 until the middle of next month, otherwise Mozilla could just stop its support without any problems. This information was proved by an interview of one of the managers of Mozilla, the portal ZDNet. It mentions the possibility of additional versions of Firefox 1.5 that would stimulate the users to update it to version 2.0. "We are concentrated on providing faster and more safely being online. We want all of our users to benefit from new opportunities of Firefox 2.0 ", said officials of Mozilla.
