Ellison also emphasized that for the release of their own version of Linux, probably, it is necessary to acquire company, which already has the experience of the development of this operating system. As the potential candidate was examined Novell - the producer of Suse Linux Enterprise. However,there are no any commentaries in Novell relative to possible sale of their business to Oracle. In the case of purchase of Novell and release of Linux version by Oracle corporation, it is necessary to compete with another important supplier of this operating system - Red Hat company. By the way, Red Hat recently acquired JBoss company, which specializes in the development of connecting software. Aquiring of JBoss, as it is expected, will make it possible Red Hat to accelerate initiative on the introduction of the service-oriented architecture (Service-Oriented Architectures, SOA). It is remarkable, that earlier as the possible buyer of JBoss precisely was named the Oracle corporation. It should be noted that Oracle at present is planned the purchase one additional software firm - Portal Software which is occupied in development of software for billing and control of the incomes of telecommunication and media-companies.
