Support of Windows 98/ME will be completely ended in summer

Corporation Microsoft intends to completely end the paid support of the operating systems Windows 98, Windows 98 second Edition and Windows Me during July of present year. The free support Windows 98 was stopped still in the summer of 2003. Paid support of Windows 98 and Windows 98 SE was originally planned to be provided until January 2004; however, then periods were prolonged until June of present year. Their decision in Microsoft was explained by the fact that many users of this program platform in the developing countries simply did not know about the license policy of corporation and did not suspect about the future curtailment of support. In order to not to create to such users the additional difficulties, Microsoft decided to prolong support for Windows 98 and Windows Me. However, now to the end of support it remained entirely a little time. As it was reported in the official information, paid support on the incidents and the critical renovations of security for Windows 98, Windows 98 second Edition and Windows Me will end on 11 July, 2006. Any other renovations of security after this period will be disabled. They note in Microsoft that the named operating systems became obsolete and they no longer satisfy the contemporary requirements of security. To users of these OS it is imperatively recommended within the shortest periods to migrate to the newer program platforms, Windows XP for example. However, during as the minimum as the year users can independently find necessary information about Windows 98/.98se/me on Microsoft sites.
