The Lord of the Rings Online has gone on sale

Studio Turbine Entertainment Software and publisher Midway Games announced the start of sales the online multi-users game â€œThe Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmarâ€ in North America. The game, elaboration of which took more than four years, is the first online game based on the works of Tolkien. While developing LotRO the developers were involved who elaborated the popular online game Asheron's Call. Turbine holds a license for the creation of games based on Tolkien books, thus, it is impossible to find any resemblance of the characters in the game with the actors, who played key roles in the trilogy by Peter Jackson. In the universe Shadows of Angmar there will be representatives of the four races that were mentioned in the books by Tolkien - people, elfs, and gnomes and hobbits. The game characters will be able to cover great distances on horseback riding. The game will take place at the time of the events described in â€œBrotherhood of the Ringâ€. The game has gone on sale in two versions. The Standard Edition will cost $ 50 and The Special Edition costs 10 dollars more. The special version comes on single DVD and includes 30 days of free online gaming, as well as film about how the project was created, a disc with music from the game and a souvenir. Simultaneously with the game release the developers announced the first addon for LotR Online, which is now known as the Shores of Evendim. The addon will be available in June and will add a new location to the game, 60 quests and 9 monsters. They also promised improvements in artificial intelligence of the rivals and updated soundtrack.
