Windows Longhorn Server Beta 3

Release of the third beta release of Windows Server Longhorn has been officially announced at the Microsoft site. A third beta version has been released to a free access, while the first two parts of beta-release were tested by a small number of individuals. The site of the software giant said that Beta 3 is a full-function version. The company does not plan to add new features to the finished platform: till the final release developers will revise the code and eliminate errors discovered. The new server operating system, according to the information from Microsoft, has increased performance and improved security system. Among the innovations of Longhorn Server there are interface, based on the command line PowerShell, Console Server Manager, which has features of remote control, and also improved firewall. The final release of Windows Longhorn Server is planned for the second half of 2007. Before the final release, Microsoft is going to release several pre-versions of the server platform.
