Adobe Systems released Media Player

The company Adobe Systems released the first version of its new product Media Player.
Media Player is a cross-platform application built on the basis of Adobe AIR and designed to play video in Flash. Media Player supports online and off-line modes, streaming playback and the feature of progressive downloads. The program allows you to view high-quality video in the formats of 1080p, 720p and 480i, in addition, users will be able to subscribe to television shows and other videos.
Adobe has already signed agreements with the companies of CBS, MTV Networks, Universal Music Group, PBS, CondeNet and Scripps Networks, which will deliver their exclusive videos to users of Media Player. In doing so, content providers will be able to make a profit through advertising in videos, as well as to prevent illegal copying of materials, with the help of DRM. In addition, Adobe Media Player platform provides suppliers of video and television shows an opportunity to analyze statistics on how often and what time their materials are watched.
Media Player is distributed for free. The program supports the work under Windows and Mac OS X.
Along with the announcement of the first version of Media Player, the company Adobe announced the opening its new online resource Adobe TV. The site Adobe TV will provide users with educational materials and guidelines for work with graphics, design tools, etc. Now Adobe TV database has about 200 videos, which can be played by means of Media Player.
