Albany: office program by subsription
4th May 2008
Microsoft Corporation began beta testing of a new version of MS Office, which is provided to users on terms of monthly payment. The program is code-named Albany and focuses primarily on home users. It is expected that users would prefer monthly payments for the opportunity to work with the program, rather than a one-time pay for a license.
The price for the opportunity to use office applications is yet unknown, but the experts estimate that if we divide the market price of Office Standard 2007 to the number of years, during which the program is actual, we get about $ 60 a year. This amount is easier to lay out than to pay $ 240 immediately.
The exact release date of Albany is still unknown, but Microsoft promises to make the service available this year.
