ATI Radeon will use GDDR5 memory

The company AMD has officially announced the intention to use GDDR5 memory in the future models of the graphics controller ATI Radeon.
Currently, ATI Radeon graphics cards are packaged with GDDR4 or GDDR4 memory. Switching to GDDR5 chips (Graphics Double Data Rate) will significantly raise the memory bandwidth and, consequently, improve performance of entire video as a whole. Moreover, it will allow reducing power consumption.
PC World notes that the first graphic processor AMD, using the memory of GDDR5, will be the chip ATI Radeon R700. This processor is expected to go on sale in coming months.
