Beta version of Windows Media Player have been released

Microsoft Corporation officially represented the beta version of new mediaplayer Windows media Player 11. Simultaneously began testing the musical service URGE, which was being created by Microsoft together with MTV Networks, with subdivision Viacom International. In comparison with the previous version Windows media Player 11 there were considerably extended the possibilities of work with the portable devices. In particular, the function of reverse synchronization, which makes it possible to load compositions from pocket player into the memory of computer appeared. The special scale helps rapidly to determine, how much free space remained in the portable device. View of the large lists of musical files was substantially simplified. Windows media Player 11 makes it possible to examine the titles of compositions, cover of albums and photograph of musicans. Furthermore, program knows how to change the quality of the protected songs for the purpose of the decreasing it sizes for the load into pocket players. As far as the musical service URGE is concerned, its database today counts two million compositions. The cost of songs is 99 cents. There are also two versions of the subscription provided: the first makes it possible to hear the music and to load songs to the computer, and by the second - to copy tracks into the memory of portable players. The cost of subscription is 9,95 dollars per month (99 dollars per year) and 14,95 dollars per month (149 dollars per year) for the first and second versions, respectively. New Microsoft mediaplayer and musical store URGE must compose competition to program iTunes and to Internet- service iTunes Music Store of Apple company. The represented beta version of Windows media Player 11 works on the computers with the operating system Windows XP. Furthermore, media player will be included in the suite of new OS Windows Vista.
The second service pack for Windows Server 2003 will be available at the end of this year
