21st May 2009
BlackBerry Curve turned to be the most popular smartphone in the USA for the first quarter of 2009. Earlier, the leading position at the U.S. smartphones market has always belonged to Apple iPhone 3G. In the first quarter of 2009, Apple iPhone 3G became the second most popular smartphone in USA, while T-Mobile G1 took the fifth position. BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Pearl took the third and fourth positions in the top five.
At the moment BlackBerry controls nearly half the U.S. market of smartphones. Three months ago its share was 15% less. According to analysts, the growth of popularity of BlackBerry is provided by an aggressive marketing policy of the operator of Verizon Wireless, distributing these devices.
