Crytek breaks up with PC-exclusives
20th May 2008
Cevat Yerli, a president of the German studio Crytek (Electronic Arts), made some interesting statements in an interview with the representatives of PC Play. First, he said that in the future his company will no longer develop PC-exclusives. The main problem of the platform, according to him, is neither high system requirements nor expensiveness, but piracy, which compels developers to shift to the consoles.
Secondly, he reassured many fans who hoped for porting Crysis under consoles of the current generation. In his point of view, the project needs to be seriously changed to run under Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. Meanwhile the studio does not even thinks of trying to move the famous game under consoles.
