Firefox 2.0 was deprived of the important innovation

In Mozilla Foundation was made a decision to not to include into Firefox 2.0 most important from the prepared innovations - Places. It is explained by the concern of developers about the stability, the productivity and the safety of the future release. Places - technology, which combines in itself the mechanism of bookmarks and history of visits, which had to arrive for the change to the existing in Firefox interfaces. Places are already available to be tested in release Bon Echo Alpha, which appeared near half a year ago, but the work on this new solution still continues. Many users (yes even developers themselves) were disappointed by this solution, and are proposed even to note the future version not as 2.0, but as 1.6. Proposal, however, was declined. It is asserted that even without Places in the the new Firefox it will be great. Improvements touched the work with RSS, supplementary sheets, search, there will be included the new mechanisms of the detection of fake sites. The users, that already established one of the preliminary versions Firefox 2.0 were warned that before the sequential upgrade for retaining the bookmarks it is necessary completely to export it, and to return conversely after the installation of latest test version. To the developers of extensions for the browser it is reported that module MozStorage, used for the storage of bookmarks, now need to be installed separately.
