Firefox 3.1: already in the development

Although the final version of Firefox 3.0 has not yet been released, the developers of the browser already look to the future and shared plans concerning the version 3.1. Thus, there is information that this release will be held around the end of this year. It will contain some features that were originally developed for Firefox 3, but later they had decided not to include them in this release, as they had not been completed. One of these features is the support of XMLHttpRequest (XHR). This is API, used by JavaScript and other scripting languages for the transfer of XML and other data between clients and servers.
In addition, there is new information about the timing of supporting older versions of the browser. Users who do not wish to part with the second version after the release of Firefox 3.0, will be able to receive updates for approximately six months, that is, till the release of Firefox 3.1.
