Formats of all cameras, unite in DNG!

The company Adobe has updated its format DNG, positioned as the universal format for work with RAW digital photos. Currently, all the leading manufacturers of cameras use their own formats, which are often incompatible. In addition, producers of software, such as the same Adobe, must continually add to their products support of formats used in new cameras. Adobe`s aim is to create fairly universal format that could be used by all manufacturers of digital cameras.
The updated format DNG 1.2 supports implementing several profiles of cameras into a graphic file. Thus, in a single file you can store multiple versions of one photo.
In addition, an updated DNG supports new metadata tags, in particular, the field to verify the integrity of raw-data.
On the site of Adobe you can download new versions of DNG Converter for Windows and Mac OS X. Besides, DNG Codec for Windows Vista (except 64 - bit versions) has been released.
