GTA IV breaks sales record

Administration of the Guinness Book of Records has recently announced that the game Grand Theft Auto IV, released at the end of April, hit two records, having become “most quickly sold game in the first 24 hours”, “entertainment product gathered most revenue during the first day of sales”, reports GameSpot.
It should be recalled that in the first week of sales the fourth part of the series Grand Theft Auto was sold in the number six million copies and brought its creators about $500 million.
Thus, GTA IV hit many records not only in game, but also in the movie industry. Before, Halo had been the game to hit sales records in the first week of its release. During the first seven days since its release this game from Microsoft Corporation earned $300 million. As for movies industry, the record in this area belongs to the film “Pirates of the Caribbean 3” - the movies earned $406 in the first week.
