HipCheck 1.0.3 â€“ monitoring of servers of Windows and Unix through a mobile device

SCO Group Company has released an updated version of solution HipCheck 1.0. 3, which will enable IT-specialists to use Pocket PC devices and smartphones for monitoring of servers and workstations based on Windows and Unix in real time mode.
According to http://www.windowsfordevices.com, Hipcheck will allow system administrators to install triggers, which may be activated in the case of certain events.
When trigger responses, the system notifies the specialist via SMS and allows him to take the necessary measures in proper time. The correct placement and setting of triggers will help to reveal problems at an early stage and prevent it, rather than later, to spend time and energy on dealing with the consequences.
Hipcheck solution consists of three components:
* HipCheck Agent is a compact module which can be installed on each controlled computer. The agent works in the background mode, monitors the current state of hardware and software, and transmits the collected data to SCO Mobile Server.
* Client application HipCheck Client equipped with a graphical interface, can be run on the mobile device and allows authorized users to receive information about the systems status in the visual and clear form.
* Server Component SCO Mobile Server offers web-interface for choosing controlled systems, notification settings, preferences and parameters of monitoring.
According to the developers, HipCheck client will support most popular models of Windows Mobile, Blackberry and Treo.
