7th May 2008
Microsoft has begun testing Live Mesh, a technology, unifying images, documents and other data through a variety of devices. The main purpose of Live Mesh is providing people with access to their information from any device at any time. Live Mesh produces synchronization between the computer, mobile phone and other devices, therefore, gicing you an opportunity to see a photo on a PC a minute after it was made by the phone. There are about 10 thousand Users from the United States currently taking part in the testing. They work under Windows. In the next few months the program will be expanded to cellphones and platforms other than Windows, such as Mac.
The project was submitted by (Ray Ozzie), who replaced Bill Gates at the position of head of Microsoft software developments. Live Mesh is a result of a trend to store information in the Internet, thereby making users independent of a specified computer or cell phone. Live Mesh gives a possibility not only to work with your files, but also to open them to other people. This will create some semblance of a social network.
Live Mesh will be open for public testing till the end of 2008.
