LucasArt will release a new shooter

LucasArts Company, which is a playing division of Lucasfilm Empire by George Lucas, last week held a press conference at which they presented a new game, which is developed now together with Day 1 Studios, - Fracture. During the communication with journalists of game issues, who have visited the event, LucasArts President Jim Ward talked mainly about plotline of the new project. According to Ward, the game will take place in 2161 and begins in the Gulf area of San-Franisko. Screenshot Fracture. The plot of Fracture is a confrontation between two political fractions â€“ Atlantic Alliance, which includes the eastern states of the United States and several European nations, and Pacific republic, the members of which are the western states and several countries of Asian region. The cause for the conflict was the project Humanity 2.0 of Massachusetts University of Technology and Harvard, within the bounds of which people with special abilities were created. A few years after the successful completion of the experiment, the participants of this project have been infected by previously unknown diseases from which they die. As a result, in 2161 the United States imposed a ban on genetic experiments, but Pacific republic hasnâ€™t accepted it, thus challenging the authority of the United States. Screenshot Fracture. It is remarkable that Fracture will be the first game of LucasArts in shooter genre from the first person. The release of the game on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms is scheduled for 2008. The developers hesitate to mention the exact date. The developers of Fracture are very proud of graphic engine of the game that will allow gamers to use a particular type of weapon which deforms the relief. Through a new game LucasArts hopes to win back once-strong positions in the game market, which were lost in recent years, as till recently the studio was releasing games only by motives of â€œStar warsâ€. Meanwhile, Ward has hinted that the company also plans to release games by motives of films about Indiana Jones, News.com reports.
