No support for XP and Office 2003 any more
7th May 2009
On April, 14 Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP and the programs of Office 2003. This will affect users of Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro 32-bit and 64-bit, Windows XP Media Center Edition and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.
Mainstream Support of the OS is regularly provided for five years since the OS first release. During this period of Mainstream Support Microsoft gives users all patches for free. When the 5-year period is over, Microsoft offers Extended Support, which provides for free only patches relating to security. The rest of updates are provided on a commercial basis, after signing a special agreement with Microsoft. Well, Extended Support for Windows XP and Office 2003 will come to an end on April, 8, 2014.
