Pre-alpha version of Firefox 3.1
31st May 2008
No sooner the final version of Firefox 2.0 had came out, than Mozilla has already updated its browser again. Recently, FTP Mozilla published the pre-alpha version of Firefox 3.1 for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. This release is code-named “Minefield”, that really seems to speak much of the “stability and reliability” of the browser. Mozilla explains that this is not even a final version of pre-alpha, so you install it on your own hook.
By its appearance, version 3.1 is almost no different from 3.0, focusing on supporting technologies that developers simply had no time to implement in Firefox 3.0. Thus, Firefox 3.1 will support API XMLHttpRequest (XHR), used by sites such as Facebook and Google Maps to create Web programs.
FTP Mozilla provides for downloading only English-version of Firefox 3.1.
