RemotelyAnywhere 9: remote control via browser
2nd May 2009
RemotelyAnywhere is not quite a regular program for remote administrating. Unlike other utilities of the kind, it consists of only one part, ie, both the server and the client part are included into the browser. In other words, you should install the app only on the computer you need to connect to. It is very convenient if you want to carry out remote administration form a computer on which you can not install any programs, for example, if the computer is located at school, Internet café or at work.
The program use a special ActiveX-component of the browser and uses its own protocol for data exchange. Secure connection is provided by the NTLM-authentication protected by a 1024-bit key. After connecting, the browser window displays details on the remote PC, including its configuration, the occupied hard disk space, CPU status, network activity, etc.
The latest version adds support of IPv6, Windows Server 2008; now you can transfer files by means of drag-and-drop.
