This is a program of IP-telephony. It will allow you to perform voice chats via the Internet (computer-to-computer). To provide decent quality it is sufficient to have even low-speed dial-up connection. The application supports work through the NAT firewalls. For the sake of privacy, the program encrypts all connections. In addition to voice calls, Skype allows you to exchange short text messages, to send SMS, and also supports video, including videoconferences.
In addition, the program features performing calls to any telephone around the world, however, this option is paid (and not cheap).
