SP2 for SUSE Linux Enterprise 10
31st May 2008
The company Novell announced the release of the second service pack for SUSE Linux Enterprise 10, containing improvements of virtualization, management, support of hardware and interaction with other operating systems. In particular, SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 is the only solution based on the system of virtualization Xen, users of which, having installed “guest” systems of Windows Server 2003 or 2008, can count on full support from Microsoft. SP2 provides Xen version 3.2 with improved virtualization tools.
Service Pack 2 includes updates for all versions of SUSE Linux Enterprise 10, including server and desktop versions, as well as version of “real time”.
In the version “real time” the developers increased performance and predictability of applications for which time plays a critical role. They also implemented support of OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution, thus, SUSE Linux Enterprise becomes the first distribution kit of OS GNU / Linux, supporting OFED.
The updates also relate to the server version and SDK, coming with SUSE Linux.
