Total sales of all Sims series amounted to 100 million copies since the first launch in 2000, reports Associated Press. Sims exists in versions for Playstation 2, Nintendo Wii, as well as for other platforms, but they have earned the highest popularity under PC.
In these games, users can create houses and commercial establishments, as well as follow daily life of characters and manage them. Sims were published in 60 countries and translated into 22 languages.
After running the series eight years ago, it became popular among a wide audience. Now 60% of it are women.
The games of this series represent some semblance of a sandbox and the humor of entire situation is that players can not always make the characters do what they need.
Fans of Sims uploaded to YouTube more than 100000 trailers based on the games. For example, players create a travesty of known music videos. In Sims many famous trademarks are advertised, and the online game community contains over 4.2 million unique visitors.
