Why British villagers did not like Google Maps
3rd May 2009
Despite the popularity of the projects of Google Maps and Google Street View, not all users are willing to accept all needs of the giant.
For instance, un unpleasant incident has took place in an English village of Broughton (the county of Buckinghamshire) some time ago. The residents of the village refused to allow Google to make a shooting of their homes and streets.
According to one of the villagers, data published on Google Maps and accessible to everyone can be used by wrong people. Google representatives decided not to enter into a dispute with the villagers and agreed to delete from the database of Google Street View all information on the village at the request of the residents.
