Windows XP will be available with net-books only
21st May 2009
After releasing Windows 7, Windows XP will withdraw from retail, but still will be offered to a number of companies. According to representatives of Microsoft Windows XP department, the beloved OS will be available for producers of net-books.
These companies will be able to install the system in the future, namely, for 12 months after releasing Windows 7. Currently XP is pre-installed in approximately 90% of all net-books, which have gone on sale since November to January (according to NPD Group). However, targeting this segment of the market made a negative impact on Microsoft`s revenues as systems pre-installed on net-books are rather cheap.
