Windows XP will ceases to be supported in 2014
18th May 2008
Microsoft hurried to reassure users, frightened by possible removing Windows XP from retail sale this summer. The company reminded that the support of the system will continue until April 2014. This was mentioned by Jared Proudfoot, a manager of department tracking the life-cycle of Microsoft products. On April, 14, 2009 the standard users “Mainstream” support will cease to exist. Then, on April, 8, 2014 it will be joined by “Extended” for business and software developers.
By the way, Windows XP went on sale in 2001, and the maximum cycle of Microsoft products lasts for 10 years, so that the company already made concessions, adding few more years. The withdrawal of Windows XP from retail sale this summer still remains negotiable.
