BBC has used Photosynth technology
19th June 2007
BBC is a first company, which decided to test the new technology Photosynth from Microsoft. This technology designs common photos in such a way, that as a result you get 3D panoramic picture, where transitions between photos are not shown. But when a user clicks on any place of the panorama, the appropriate photo is shown closely. The program also supports panning, ranging and allows you to look around, turning on 360ï‚°.
BBC has used the new technology for its series of telecasts “How We Built Britain”, namely for creation of interactive sightseeing tour, created on the basis of pictures from TV company archives.
To test the work with Photosynth can users of Internet Explorer and Firefox. For doing this you are to download 6 MB of data.
