Computers will become the aesthetes

At the university of the state Pennsylvania the unique program, which evaluates photographs similarly to man, was developed. It can evaluate photographs more than according to fifty criteria, such as the saturation of color, exposure, composition so forth according to these data it will carry judgments about the images, evaluating them as "dears" or "beautiful", it's conclusions coinciding with the conclusions about the pictures, which makes the mean statistical person, with an accuracy to 70 percent. The creators of application say, that it over the long term can be used with the search for images in the Internet, indeed each user would want to see only better, but not to examine thousand of plain pictures. One additional possible application of technology - digital photograph. Program will be able to inform photographers about the fact that for obtaining a good photograph it is necessary, for example, to change composition. For developing the program there were used more than three and one-half thousands of images, which were accessible for the download on one of the popular sites, dedicated to digital photograph. The images can be evaluated on this site, and precisely these estimations were assumed as the basis of molding of the "aesthetical taste" of program. Researchers took only those photographs, which were evaluated by two either more users of site according to the 7 scores scale and have obtained the estimation of more than 5,8 or less than 4,2 marks.
