Firefox 3: world record

Downloads of the final version of Firefox 3 has been put to the Guinness Book of Records: in 24 hours after the official launch more than 8 million copies have been downloaded.
An interesting fact: in just a day after the release Firefox 3 became the third most popular browser in the Internet: more than 4% of visitors of the most popular sites use the browser nowadays.
It is noticeable that the figure of 8 million downloads did not become a breakthrough, as the recently released Opera 9.5 can boast the same results order: more than 6.5 million downloads. Moreover, in the first hours of the “Download Day”, servers, containing Firefox 3, were simply unavailable due to overload.
Just 5 hours after the official release of Firefox experts from the company Tipping Point found vulnerability in it. The details have not yet been disclosed, so known yet how serious was discovered vulnerability. According to the experts, to use this vulnerability, the user should first click on a link to a malicious site, so, with proper caution users can feel secure so far.
